Organization
Center for technology transfer d.o.o. is a company, founded as a limited liability company by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and shipbuilding, which is the sole founder and owner. The center is an independent Office for technology transfer established by the Faculty of mechanical engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb as a special purpose entity (SVP) wholly owned by a public research organization that, in accordance with the law on companies, has founding rights over the Center. CTT carries out its activities without the intention of acquiring profit for the founder. The positive difference between income and expenditure is used exclusively for the improvement of activities and development of the CTT and the FSB. All proceeds from knowledge transfer activities are re-invested in the primary activities of the CTT (research organisation or research infrastructure).
CTT is registered in the unique register of entrepreneurial infrastructure – JRPI of the Ministry of economy and sustainable development of the Republic of Croatia, as an incubator for new technologies.
CTT action it is focused on using the scientific competencies of the FSB in the development of the economy and raising the competitiveness of Croatian industry in creating new value. Innovation processes and knowledge-based products and services have become the basis of competitiveness, which is why CTT has been undertaking activities of commercialization of FSB knowledge and research results and innovations created in cooperation with the economy since its inception. CTT is located in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, and currently has 4 full-time employees.
Participation in the common European market, but also in the global environment, has brought new opportunities, but also challenges for the Croatian economy and society, which is why it is necessary to invest in infrastructure, knowledge and skills. In this context, CTT carries out a series of activities with the purpose of Connecting Science and the economy, encouraging the development of innovative companies and directing students towards entrepreneurship.

Results to date
Through more than two decades of existence and activity, CTT has achieved a number of collaborations with the economy and the academic community, successfully implemented projects financed from pre-accession, structural and investment funds of the EU, held a large number of professional seminars, incubated a significant number of companies and supported dozens of student projects. Below is an overview of selected projects, examples of cooperation with the economy and participation in entrepreneurial initiatives.
Mission
The mission of the CTT is to encourage the development and innovation activities of the FSB, to transfer the findings and results of scientific research to the market and to improve the competitiveness of innovative start-ups and/or spin-offs.
Vision
The vision of CTT is to be a recognizable central place of cooperation between science and economy in order to increase the competitive capacity of Croatian industry.
Strategic objective, priorities and expected outcomes
The strategic meaning and goal of the Center for technology transfer is to connect science and economy in order to increase the competitive capacity of Croatian industry and to strengthen the role of the FSB in this process..
This objective will be achieved by strengthening the existing mechanisms for the transfer of knowledge and technology, but also by creating new ones and implementing selected strategic measures proposed in the action plan. The design of the measures used the experiences of leading higher education institutions and their technology transfer units, which adapted to the activities, objectives and priorities of the FSB and CTT.
The strategic goal will be achieved through the achievement of three specific goals, which also represent the priorities of CTT’s work in the coming period:
- Specific objective 1: fostering lifelong learning (SC1),
- Specific objective 2: strengthening technology transfer (SC2),
- Specific objective 3: Promotion of cooperation with the economy and the scientific community (SC3)
These specific objectives cover the main activities of the CTT, but with further improvements defined on the basis of national and European trends in the field of knowledge and technology transfer and on the basis of good practice examples of comparable institutions.
Pravni okvir CTT-a
Definira unutarnju organizaciju kroz tri ustrojbene jedinice:
- Jedinica za transfer tehnologije
- Jedinica za projekte
- Jedinica za transfer znanja
Uređuje prava, obveze i odgovornosti zaposlenika te uvjete rada unutar CTT-a.
Interni akt kojim se regulira sustav nagrađivanja i materijalna prava djelatnika.
Usklađenje s Nacionalnim smjernicama za transfer tehnologije i znanja te ispunjavanje definicije Organizacije za istraživanje i širenje znanja (OIŠZ).
Izmjene djelatnosti, uvođenje organizacije stručnih seminara i konferencija kao redovne aktivnosti.
