The MARIGOLD project aims to establish a strong and sustainable partnerships between educational institutions and industry leaders in Norway and Croatia positively influencing the problem of shortage of skilled professionals in the maritime industry by establishing the transnational student-to-business (S2B) Internship Concept.
The activities in the project will detect challenges of the industry and academia members and provide solutions that will attract more students to maritime-related university programs through promotion and focusing on renewable energy and clean energy solutions, sustainable blue economy, zero-emission transport including green shipping and digital transition in maritime and automation industry by creating common ground for building international careers in the maritime industry. The synergy between Croatian students with Norwegian companies enhances the capacity and competence and promotes long-term bilateral business collaboration in the green and blue sectors. To this end, the S2B internship program can be considered as a sustainable pipeline of well-trained automation engineering professionals who are equipped with the necessary competence and international exposure to meet maritime industry demands. The MARIGOLD project includes a partnership between Center of Technology Transfer LLC, UNIZAG FSB and AAKP. The project is funded by the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 and aims to address the competence and capacity gaps in the maritime industry focusing on renewable energy and clean energy solutions, sustainable blue economy, zero-emission transport including green shipping and digital transition in maritime and automation industry, and to facilitate direct engagement between students and maritime industry companies in Norway and Croatia.
