The Technology Transfer Center Ltd. (CTT) was established in 1996 by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Zagreb (FSB) with the support of the Ministry of Education and consulting from the German Fraunhofer Institute. The founding of the CTT established an entrepreneurial infrastructure primarily aimed at connecting the scientific research capacities of the FSB with domestic industry.
The task of the CTT is to facilitate and accelerate the transfer of technology and knowledge to private companies. The Center has the status of a legal entity, making processes much simpler and faster when negotiating with the private sector. This mitigates one of the biggest risks for effective technology and knowledge transfer: time.

The Center is located within the premises of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and currently has 4 permanent employees. The CTT's activities are focused on utilizing the scientific competencies and capacities of the FSB in developing the economy, increasing the competitiveness of Croatian industry, and creating new value.
Innovation processes, as well as knowledge-based products and services, have become the foundation of competitiveness, which is why the CTT has, since its founding, undertaken activities to commercialize the knowledge and research results of the FSB, as well as innovations arising from collaboration with the industry.
Participation in the common European market, as well as in the global environment, has brought new opportunities but also challenges for the Croatian economy and society, making it necessary to invest in infrastructure, knowledge, and skills. In this context, the CTT conducts a series of activities aimed at connecting science and industry, encouraging the development of innovative companies, and guiding students towards entrepreneurship.
