Center for technology transfer d.o.o. he began a successful partnership with ViaKornel-om – studio for 3D modeling and prototype development after the” ZEVinnovation match-making ” workshop organized by AAKP in Aalesund, Norway. Joint cooperation between CTT and ViaKornel, as well as support from the consortium of the project, have brought positive results for the ZEVinnovation project and we are happy to spread the word about the protection of the industrial design of the all-electric catamaran that could change the course of small shipbuilding.

CTT and the zevinnovation project consortium supported Viakornel, and the joint cooperation accelerated the development and technical improvement of the design of the all-electric catamaran “Bumblebee”. Center for technology transfer d.o.o., ViaKornel and the rest of the ZEVinnovation team jointly funded and implemented the industrial design protection of the “Bumblebee” project in less than 2 months.

The modularity of the design of the “Bumblebee” project makes it possible to use the same hull for as many as three versions of the ship relatively simple, with a large reduction in future production costs. The following versions are defined within the project: private, tourist / rental and working version of electric catamaran. The “Bumblebee” electric catamarans were defined by the project as small, maneuverable and easily steerable, intended mainly for shorter sailings. They are designed for sailing in shallow seas, i.e. sailing in narrow channels, coves, along the banks of rivers, lakes and bays. The ship’s relatively small draft (even when the catamaran is fully loaded) allows it easy navigation and passage through shallow waters, channels and shores.

Innovative industrial design of all-electric catamaranRCD 015032189-0001) successfully protected 29. August 2023 years at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

The best part of the cooperation achieved within the ZEVinnovation project is that ViaKornel will continue to expand its business network and improve research and development of innovative and environmentally friendly/alternative technologies in the shipbuilding industry..

ZEVinnovation is an international project funded by the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for regional cooperation. Project manager, Center for technology transfer CTT, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, AAKP AS, Vinco Innovation as, Baltic Sea &Space Cluster, innovations and development d.o.o. they supported the development of a business plan and an intellectual property protection procedure, resulting in a successful registration. Participants in the development of the project: Nikola Budimir, Tina Budimir Bijelić, Ljubomir Pozder, Tamara Aleksandra Fabijanić, Željko Bihar and Lovro Frković.
