The project “algorithm for predictive management of building systems”was successfully completed within the call for grants” support to technology transfer offices”, published by the Ministry of Science and education as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021. – 2026. (reference number C3. 2.R3-I1. 03). The key result of the project is the successful transfer of technology from the Faculty of mechanical engineering and naval architecture of the University of Zagreb to the newly established spin-off company, which created the basis for further commercialization of the developed technology on the market.

During the implementation of the project Center for technology transfer (CTT) & nbsp;conducted a series of activities aimed at preparing technology for the market. The events included market analysis, development of an intellectual property management strategy, state-of-the-art research, preparation of a business plan and commercialization model, as well as the creation of organizational and business requirements for the creation of spin-off companies.

The creation of spin-off companies represents an important step in strengthening the ecosystem of technology transfer and knowledge-based entrepreneurship. Consequently, research results allow us to leave the academic environment and their application in economics, create new opportunities for cooperation with industry and the development of innovative products and services..
This project further confirmed the role of the technology transfer center as a key supporting organization in the process of commercialization of knowledge, protection of intellectual property and establishment of academic spin-off companies, thus contributing to strengthening the innovation capacity of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and shipbuilding of the University of Zagreb and the Croatian economy.

Startup Builder is a unique program in Croatia that connects industry, scientific and research institutions and startup ecosystem with the aim of launching and developing startups. It is intended researchers and students who want to test the potential for commercialization of their research results.

The Program is based on the methodology developed through many years of work with high-tech startups and on the world’s best practices. Further proof of the quality is given by the fact that Nuqleus recognized among the leading startup hubs in Europe by the Financial Times survey, where it ranked high 12th. place in the mentorship category.

The Program is structured in three phases, from the validation of the idea through the business plan to the first investment, with the continuous support of Nuqleus team and mentors from scientific, investment and business circles. The nuqleus program is supported by a large network of s & nbsp;more than 50 top mentors from 3 different areas: Business Development, Finance and law and science and technology, as well as 16 national scientific research institutions te Investment committee  composed of individual (angel) investors and representatives of investment funds.

The higher stages of the programme have so far been 32 teams from a variety of fields, from advanced materials and mining to robotics, energy and artificial intelligence to biomedicine. From these teams, it has been more than 20 startup companies who have secured more than 2.5 million euros of investment.

We are delighted to announce the start of the project “zevinnovation HUB – digital platform”, a cutting-edge digital platform aimed at stakeholders working on innovations in the blue and green maritime industry.

The aim of the project is to conduct research and development activities aimed at improving the technical characteristics of the ZEVINNOVATION HUB. The project consortium will make efforts to refine the ZEVinnovation HUB platform from the current prototype to the first completed version and test the platform in a real operating environment.

Key activities include:

  • Improving the architecture and technology of the ZEVinnovation HUB Platform with special emphasis on improving the Innovation Management System (IMS);
